‘RHONY’ Star’s Underwear Line Slips Into 530 Seventh Avenue

Yummie, a women’s shapewear line started by “The Real Housewives of New York City” star Heather Thompson, is relocating to a new showroom in the Garment District, according to a press release from the landlord, Savitt Partners.

The designer inked a deal last week for 9,000 square feet at 530 Seventh Avenue between West 38th and West 39th Streets. Ms. Thompson won’t be moving too far; her office is currently located a few blocks away at 561 Seventh Avenue between West 40th and West 41st Streets. Read More

Branding Company Inks Deal for Its First NYC Office

Philadelphia-based Sparks Marketing Group has signed a deal for office space in Soho for its first permanent New York City office, Savitt Partners announced.

The marketing firm, which has worked with Adidas, Samsung and Google, signed a seven-year lease for 5,400 square feet at 42-44 Greene Street between Grand and Broome Streets, according to Savitt, the tenant representative in the deal. The deal closed about two weeks ago, a Savitt spokeswoman said, and Sparks Marketing Group plans to move in around July 1. It will be taking the top floor of the five-story building.   Read More

Savitt Partners Signs New Lease With Damo Textiles and Friends

Savitt Partners 530 Seventh Avenue has two new tenants, thanks to an old one.

Damo Textile signed a new lease for 4,900 square feet on the 14th floor. The off-price junior and missy apparel wholesaler has occupied 1,700 square feet on the building’s ninth floor since 2012. Damo will move up the five floors to a new space, which it will share with Celebrity Pink, a related apparel company. And it’s keeping its original space too, subletting it to another sister company (which Savitt declined to name). The asking price was $58 per square foot.  Read More

Fashion Showroom to Add Space in Garment District

Los Angeles-based fashion promoter Place Showroom will expand at the start of next year by 1,800 square feet at Savitt Partners530 Seventh Avenue, Commercial Observer has learned.

The company that uses its showroom to connect emerging brands and designers with buyers signed a renewal and expansion on the 22nd floor of the Garment District property, grabbing an additional unit on the same floor of its current location to grow to 5,200 square feet, Savitt officials said. Space in the high-rise portion of the building, which now features the Skylark cocktail lounge on the top floors, commands an asking rent in the mid-$60s per square foot, the officials said. Fashion Designer Cuts a Deal to Relocate in Garment District

Women’s fashion designer Donna Morgan will move three blocks south in the Garment District through a seven-year, 8,272-square-foot lease at the Kaufman Organization‘s 132 West 36th Street, Commercial Observer has learned.

The company, which designs outfits ranging from wedding dresses to casual wear, will occupy a showroom and office on the north side of the eighth floor of the structure between Broadway and Seventh Avenue. Kaufman officials expect them to relocate from 530 Seventh Avenue in February 2015 at the building where asking rents run in the high $40s per square foot, they said. Read More

Onward Kashiyama! said all involved parties last Thursday, as the Japanese fashion house by that name renewed its lease at 530 Seventh Avenue for three years.

Tokyo-based Onward Kashiyama distributes a number of men’s and women’s apparel lines, including preppy men’s clothier J. Press. The Connecticut-born retailer is perhaps best known for selling sweaters emblazoned with the logo of Skull and Bones, Yale University’s most notorious fraternal organization. Onward also owns top ballet shoe makers Chacott and Freed of London, and designs custom clothes for brands such as Calvin Klein and Sonia Rykiel. Read More
