Sequence Sublets SecondMarket Space at 636 Avenue of the Americas


Sequence has signed a sublease for a 4,577-square-foot portion of the fourth floor at 636 Avenue of the Americas, smack at the center of the booming Flatiron District, The Commercial Observer has learned from CompStak.

The subtenant will pay rent in the high-$50s per square foot in the three-year five-month deal, according to CompStak’s data, and will sublet the space from SecondMarket, an online marketplace for illiquid assets. Read More

Regus Signs Deal at 31 Penn Plaza


Continuing its aggressive expansion across New York, office suite provider Regus has signed a 10-year, 23,000-square-foot lease on the 15th floor at 31 Penn Plaza.

Regus will take responsibility for the build out of the space and is expected to move in during the first quarter of 2014. Asking rents were in the low-$50s per square foot, according to a source familiar with the negotiations. Read More

The digital advertising provider Videology Inc. signed a  10-year, 16,000-square-foot lease at 1500 Broadway, also known as Times Square Plaza.

Jones Lang LaSalle‘s Jim Wenk and Rhett Miller represented the tenant. CBRE‘s Paul Amrich, Patrice Meagher and Daniel Bodner represented the landlord, Zapco 1500 Investment LP.

Tech company Operative Media, which provides digital advertising business solutions, has signed for 30,720 square feet of space at Himmel + Meringoff Properties’ 6 East 32nd Street. The company signed an eight-year lease at the 173,600-square-foot building and will relocate from its current space at 40 West 25th Street.

The wave of tech tenant leasing deals in Midtown South continues.

Knewton Inc., a provider of sophisticated online-based learning and education programs for students and test takers, has signed a 16,000-square-foot lease at 100-104 Fifth Avenue, an office building owned by the Kaufman Organization. The term of the deal, which is for the 20-story building’s entire eighth floor, stretches ten years. Asking rents for the space were $55 per square foot. Read More
