Gerber Life Insurance, the children’s life insurance provider, has signed a 12,868-square-foot office lease at Two Trees Management’s office property at 45 Main Street in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood, Commercial Observer has learned.
The new space will serve as a satellite office for Gerber Life’s technology teams, according to Two Trees. Gerber is based in White Plains, N.Y.
The length of the deal and the exact asking rent were not disclosed. The average asking rent for the building is $45 to $55 per square foot, according to a spokesperson for Two Trees.
Alyssa Zahler, Elizabeth Bueno and Jarad Winter represented Two Trees in-house in the deal.
“Dumbo has cultivated a business community defined by innovation, collaboration and creativity,” Zahler said. “Gerber Life Insurance Company’s decision to establish a satellite presence here speaks to the neighborhood’s standing as a dynamic hub for leading businesses across industries.”
Michael Baraldi and Owen Koorbusch from Cushman & Wakefield represented Gerber. C&W did not immediately respond to CO’s requests for comment.
Completed in 1912, 45 Main Street is a 12-story, 475,000-square-foot office property. Other tenants in the building include global architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group and film editing services collective Church Edit.
Just last week, design firm Twelve doubled its space there to 14,000 square feet, as CO previously reported.
