Women’s apparel company Golden Touch Imports has inked a big lease to relocate and consolidate its footprint in the Garment District.

The designer and manufacturer of girls’ and ladies’ clothing signed a 10-year, 60,000-square-foot deal for the sixth and seventh floors of 500-512 Seventh Avenue, according to tenant broker Brian Neugeboren of savitt partners. Asking rent was in the low $60s per square foot.

Golden Touch moved its operations from 1400 and 1410 Broadway, which are a block east of its new home, at the end of last year, Neugeboren said. The New York Post reported this week on the lease, which was signed in the third quarter of 2018.

The Moinian Group, Chetrit Group and Edward J. Minskoff Equities own the two-building, 1.2-million-square-foot commercial complex between West 37th and West 38th Streets. The largest tenant in the building is WeWork, which leased 250,000 square feet in the 1920s office property last year, as Commercial Observer reported.

Neugeboren and Marc Schoen of Savitt Partners represented Golden Touch in the transaction. Cushman & Wakefield (CWK)’s Bruce Mosler and Whitney Anderson handled the deal on behalf of the landlords and not immediately respond to a request for comment via their spokespeople.

Neugeboren told CO that the clothing maker chose the building because it wanted to remain in the area. “It’s still the Fashion District; this is where their buyers are,” he said. “They wanted to be in one building, instead of two different ones, and there weren’t many options that could accommodate a 60,000-square-foot tenant in contiguous space. That’s really why they chose this building.”
