The Yard has signed a long-term lease at The Brodsky Organization’s 157 Columbus Avenue, bringing the building to full occupancy after a renovation first reported in Commercial Observer paved the way.
The coworking space provider will occupy 28,638 square feet on the entire fourth and fifth floors, and the lease follows four tenants that recently completed transactions that followed the renovation: Fusion Learning leased 14,319 square feet, CrossFit leased 11,116 square feet, Citi Habitats leased 8,335 square feet and Quinlan Development leased 5,984 square feet.
Renovation and Repositioning
Renovations are paying off at 157 Columbus Avenue, where the Brodsky Organization has recently signed four new tenants to 10-year deals at the Upper West Side office building, The Commercial Observer has learned.
In the largest of the new deals, academic tutoring company Fusion Learning Inc. has signed a 14,319-square-foot lease on the third floor of the building. As reported by The Commercial Observer, the company signed its first lease in New York at 450-460 Park Avenue South late last year.
The Brodsky Organization is renovating and repositioning 157 Columbus Avenue following the departure of longtime tenant Walt Disney Co., The Commercial Observer has learned.
The renovation is the first at the Upper West Side office building since it was built 30 years ago, in 1983 – the same year Walt Disney signed its lease there.
Ownership hired architecture firm Davis Brody Bond LLP to design the new lobby, elevator cabs, bathrooms, and upgraded building infrastructure, while a team from Cushman & Wakefield will resume its leasing efforts on the roughly 70,000 square feet of available space after the renovations, expected to conclude this summer, are complete.
