The West Village, still reeling from the closure of St. Vincent’s, is getting two new Spanish eateries in one.
Hector Sanz, owner of Rayuela at 165 Allen Street and Macondo at 157 East Houston Street, is opening the restaurants, one more upscale and one more casual, both at 2 Bank Street, on the corner of Greenwich Avenue. The lease is for 2,800 square feet on the ground floor and 2,000 square feet in the basement.
Mr. Sanz was the first one of 50 different groups to look at the corner spot, according to Brad Schwarz of Sierra Realty, who represented the landlord and the tenant.
