Luke Schoenfelder

Luke Schoenfelder is the CEO and founder of Latch, a smart-building company that announced a merger deal with a special purpose acquisition company sponsored by Tishman Speyer in 2021.

Before founding Latch, Schoenfelder spent four years at Apple in Worldwide Government Affairs. He is a graduate of Georgetown University, and studied as a Marshall Scholar at the Imperial College in London.

Schoenfelder, originally from Lancaster, Pa., always had a strong interest in infrastructure and founded Latch in 2014 with three other co-founders. Schoenfelder believes in the importance of managing the hardware and software experience, and in the primacy of design, which he attributes to his Apple pedigree.

In 2021, at the time of the merger deal, Latch was valued at $1.56 billion. It was scheduled to complete the merger and begin trading in the second quarter of the year.
