reprintsDoggy daycare and spa Biscuits & Bath will be moving into a new 1,000 square foot storefront at 1035 Third Avenue, The Commercial Observer has learned.
The company, which has 7 locations throughout New York City and offers 24-hour care to any variety of dogs, from overweight to frisky, will be moving into the space that was formerly occupied by Morrell Wine Exchange.
Asking rent for the space was $220 per square foot.
Faith Hope Consolo and Joseph Aquino, both of Prudential (PRU) Douglas Elliman, represented the landlord in the deal. Grubb & Ellis represented Biscuits & Bath. The lease is for 12 years.
Although she is not a dog owner herself, Ms. Consolo said the new store will be a welcome addition to the Upper East Side neighborhood.
“It’s great for the building and great for the neighborhood,” she told The Commercial Observer. “It’s on a block where we already put in a lot of fashion tenants. It’s the missing use. ”
Other stores on the block that have been brought into that stretch of block-front by Ms. Consolo and Mr. Aquino include Kusmi Tea, Variazioni, and Elijah Peters Optique.
Biscuits & Bath offers services like day care and dog walking for any kind of pooch. The store also provides a lifestyle plan for dogs that focuses on “total wellness,” from exercise and health to behavior and grooming maintenance, according to its website.
