Terrorism Risk Insurance Act

The Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) was signed into law in late 2002 as a way for the federal government to prop up property losses resulting from terrorism. At the time, estimates showed that $15 billion in real estate transactions were canceled or stalled due to terrorism concerns.
