Lois Weiss
Known as the “Voice of Real Estate,” Lois Weiss has spent over three decades covering New York City’s commercial real estate industry and politics while her photographs often accompany the articles.
A diamond pin that was a gift from her late husband reads, “Real Estate Goddess” – and it’s for good reason.
The award-winning journalist and past president of the prestigious National Association of Real Estate Editors spent a decade with Real Estate Weekly before joining the New York Post where she continued her trademarked Between the Bricks column.
As a freelancer, she has also written for the Real Deal, Cityfeet, Habitat, Bisnow and Crain’s Small Business along with the trucking magazine Road King, the luxury Robb Report and others.
She has also written for rock magazines including Sweet Potato, Boston Rock, Texas Beat, and Maryland Musician and contributed photographs to Relix, The New York Times and Bill Wyman’s Stone Alone autobiography.
Growing up in the streets of the Bronx and Manhattan while spending summers in Westchester, she attended Hunter College High School before becoming a liquid projectionist with the Joshua Light Show at the Fillmore East, commuting each weekend with her dog from Syracuse University. She later graduated from the University of New Hampshire where she was part of the student group that produced major concerts ranging from Ella Fitzgerald and J. Geils to Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Review.
As a notary public and former Girl Scout, she believes in being prepared and is a competitive shooter and Range Safety Officer and enjoys driving, fishing and kayaking.
