The World Economic Forum, a nonprofit organization created to oversee public-private partnerships, will take more than three full floors at the Durst Organization’s 825 Third Avenue, Commercial Observer has learned.

The Switzerland-based World Economic Forum signed a 15-year, 58,131-square-foot lease at the 40-story Midtown office tower last week, according to a source close to the deal.

The asking rent was $83 per square foot, and the tenant will occupy the entirety of the building’s sixth through eighth floors. The World Economic Forum will relocate from 350 Madison Avenue next year.

“The space will provide a flexible, modern workplace and convening hub for our colleagues, partners and communities, supporting our work in New York and globally,” Matthew Blake, managing director at World Economic Forum, said in a statement to CO.

The nonprofit was represented by David Falk, Robert Silver, Scott Brown and Dylan Weisman from Newmark, while Durst was represented in-house by Thomas Bow, Ashlea Aaron, Bailey Caliban and Sayo Kamara. Newmark declined to comment on the deal.

Built in 1969, 825 Third Avenue sits on the corner of East 50th Street and recently underwent a $150 million renovation. Other tenants at 825 Third Avenue include health care investment firm Lorient, Japanese insurance group Tokio and law firm Slarskey.

Jody Durst, president at Durst, said in a statement that “world-class companies and organizations” are moving to 825 Third Avenue following the renovation.
