Accounting and advisory firm BKD will trade one Durst Organization building for another, Commercial Observer has learned.

The firm signed a 13-year and seven-month lease for 20,899 square feet on the entire 12th floor of Durst’s 1155 Avenue of the Americas between West 44th and West 45th Street, according to the landlord. Asking rent was $85 per square foot.

BKD has 40 offices around the country including 23,094-square-foot digs nearby at Durst’s 655 Third Avenue between East 41st and East 42nd Streets, Durst said.

The Third Avenue space was originally occupied by accounting firm Loeb & Troper since 1994 and BKD took it over when the companies merged in 2018. BKD plans to move into the 41-story 1155 Avenue of the Americas in January 2020, a spokesman for Durst said.

“We are proud to welcome BKD across town to their new home at 1155 Avenue of the Americas,” Jonathan “Jody” Durst, the president of the Durst Organization, said in a statement. “They have been a valued tenant for the past 25 years, and we are very pleased that they have chosen to stay within our portfolio and entrust their tenancy to us.”

Durst’s Rocco Romeo and Tanya Grimaldo represented the landlord in-house while Newmark (NMRK) Knight Frank’s Daniel Katcher and Brett Stein brokered it for the tenant. A spokesman for NKF did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Other tenants in the 790,000-square-foot 1155 Avenue of the Americas include law firm Perkins Coie, residential brokerage Keller Williams and Verizon.
