PR Firm Gibbs & Soell Relocating to West 33rd Street

Public relations firm Gibbs & Soell Business Communications is moving to 111 West 33rd Street near Penn Station, according to a release from the building’s landlord, Empire State Realty Trust.

Gibbs & Soell signed a lease for 19,285 square feet, spanning the entire 22nd floor of the 26-story building between Broadway and Seventh Avenue. The public relations firm is relocating from 1 Central Place in Midtown, also owned by ESRT, where it occupied 12,724 square feet.

Empire State was represented in-house by Keith Cody along with Newmark Knight Frank’s Scott Klau, Erik Harris and Neil Rubin. The tenant was represented by Erik Schmall and Scott Weiss of Savills Studley.

The asking rent was $69 per square foot and the the lease is for 10 years, according to a spokeswoman for ESRT.

The 728,429-square-foot building is home to ESRT’s headquarters as well as offices for Macy’s and Nespresso, the latter which consolidated several offices into 41,800 square feet at the building in April 2018, as Commercial Observer reported. Retail tenants include Foot Locker, Sephora and Target.

The building recently underwent renovations, and Studios Architecture redesigned the entrances on both West 33rd and West 34th Streets.

Spokespeople for Savills Studley and NKF did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
