Signature Bank will consolidate two New York City offices to move to Empire State Realty Trust’s 1400 Broadway, a spokeswoman for the landlord said.
The bank signed a 15-year lease for 91,980 square feet in the Garment District building between West 38th and West 39th Street, The New York Post first reported. Signature will take the entire sixth, seventh and 27th floors.
The sixth and seventh floors had asking rents of $64 per square foot while asking rents on the 27th floor were $67 per square foot, according to a spokeswoman for ESRT.
Michael Cohen, Andrew Roos and Howard Kaplowitz of Colliers (CIGI) International brokered the deal for Signature Bank while Keith Cody of ESRT and Neil Rubin of Newmark (NMRK) Knight Frank handled it for the landlord. A spokesman for NKF declined to comment and a spokesman for Colliers did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Signature, whose headquarters are at 565 Fifth Avenue, will shift its offices at 29 West 38th Street and 177 Avenue of the Americas to 1400 Broadway. It’s unclear when Signature will make the move.
The bank will join clothing designer ADJMI Apparel Group, ride-sharing company Uber and immigration law firm Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy in the 37-story building.
