reprintsSeventy-year-old flower shop Atlas Floral Decorators has relocated within Queens to a 10,000-square-foot space in Long Island City, Commercial Observer has learned.
The shop has left 46-12 70th Street in Woodside for a new space on the ground floor of a one-story industrial building at 48-35 36th Street between Hunters Point Avenue and 48th Avenue. The asking rent in the LIC deal was $20 per square foot, according to a spokesman for TEK Realty Advisors, which represented the tenant. The length of the lease was not immediately clear.
“Atlas was attracted to the property’s close proximity to I-495 and No. 7 train,” Theo Kontis of TEK Realty said in prepared remarks. Kontis and TEK’s Vincenzo Amato represented Atlas in the transaction. The deal was finalized on June 1 and Atlas moved in immediately, Kontis said.
Kontis declined to say why Atlas moved, but the Woodside property is in the process of being sold to Madison Realty Capital, which plans to turn it into an apartment complex, according to a TEK Realty press release. A representative for Madison Realty Capital did not immediately return a request for comment.
Ira Sherman of Greiner-Maltz represented the landlord, SL International. Sherman did not respond to a request for comment. Neither Atlas nor the landlord could be reached for comment.
