reprintsCoworking giant WeWork (WE) has reportedly inked a 100,000-square-foot lease for a new location at landlord Walter & Samuels’ 214 West 29th Street in Chelsea.
WeWork agreed last month to take floors two through eight at the 17-story, 138,000-square-foot office building between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, according to The Real Deal. The deal expands the coworking firm’s already substantial presence in Chelsea; WeWork’s current headquarters are located at 115 West 18th Street, while it also agreed to take 167,000 square feet at 18 West 18th Street earlier this year, as Commercial Observer first reported.
Asking rent, length of lease and the brokers involved in the West 29th Street transaction were not immediately clear, though Walter & Samuels’ Mark Jaccom and Mark Davis handle leasing at the property in-house, according to CoStar Group data.
Representatives for WeWork and Walter & Samuels, including Jaccom, could not immediately be reached for comment. Jaccom departed JRT Realty Group to join Walter & Samuels as director of leasing and brokerage last September, only five months after arriving at JRT from Cresa.
Other office tenants at 214 West 29th Street include software firms T-Rex Group and Cainkade and talent agency HCKR.
