The asking rent in the deal was $68 per square foot. The law firm will be taking the 16th and 17th floors of the 20-story building between East 44th and East 45th Streets.

“Leasing at 711 Third Avenue has been extremely active with 75,838 square feet of new tenant leases signed this year,” Steven Durels, SL Green’s head of leasing, said in prepared remarks.

Some of those other tenants signed to the 583,000-square-foot building recently include Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group’s relocation to 19,025 square feet there, as CO reported in September. Niche Media Holdings, a magazine publisher, inked a deal in March for 20,000 square feet at the Midtown building.

Scott Panzer of JLL (JLL) and Robert Silver from Newmark (NMRK) Grubb Knight Frank both represented the law firm. Brokers for the tenant were not immediately available. Howard Tenenbaum and Gary Rosen represented the landlord in-house.

Golenbock, Eiseman, Assor, Bell & Peskoe will be leaving 437 Madison Avenue between East 49th and East 50th Streets. The firm currently leases 34,000 square feet at the Madison Avenue building, according to CoStar. It has occupied that office space since 1994 with 80 employees.
