Kathryn Amberleigh has inked to deal to open a new location in the city.
The popular shoe designer will open her third store at 13 Gansevoort Street between Hudson and West 4th Street in the Meatpacking District. The new store is located next to MARNI, Catherine Malandrino, Calypso and the soon to be re-opened Ganesvoort walkway.
“At first they were considering the available retail space on the other side of the building (342 West 13th Street) and then realized that there was a much bigger bang for the buck and opportunity for growth at 13 Gansevoort,” said Amie Claps, a director of retail services at the Lansco Corporation. “Plus, the layout allows them to create an unique and exciting experience for their customers in which they walk-in from the sidewalk and descend into a sub-haven of shoes.”
“It’s the kind of spot that is unassuming from the outside and then offers a great element of surprise and that ‘oh wow’ moment when you enter,” she added.
The location features original beams and columns as well as a large enough space that will fit both retail and showroom.
Amie Claps represented Kathryn Amberleigh in the transaction. Barbara Craig of Newmark (NMRK) Grubb Knight Frank represented the landlord, Hudson Point Associates LLC.
The asking rent was $48 per square foot.
In addition to 13 Gansevoort Street, Kathryn Amberleigh operates out of 219 Mott Street and 8130 West Third Street in Los Angeles.
