Portfolio Media Inc., owner of the popular law industry news site Law360, is expanding into almost 8,400 square feet at 200 Park Avenue South.
The company is based out of 860 Broadway and is subleasing the new office from William Grant & Sons, a tenant in 200 Park Avenue South. Portfolio Media is taking the space on a portion of the building’s 12th floor.
According to a person familiar with the company, it has grown rapidly in recent years, doubling to more than 100 employees.
200 Park Avenue South is a 280,000-square-foot building at the south corner of Union Square owned by the investment and management firm ABS Partners.
Sean Black, a leasing executive with Jones Lang LaSalle, arranged the sublease on behalf of Portfolio Media. According to Mr. Black, the location was ideal for the company because it was close to Union Square’s dense transit and also in the midst of a neighborhood, Midtown South, that has fast become home to the city’s burgeoning tech sector.
