Chang Selects Fairfield Inn & Suites for West 58th Street Hotel

McSam Hotel Group‘s Sam Chang has picked Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott as the brand for his hotel project at 538 West 58th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues, the hotel developer told Commercial Observer.
The limited-service hotel will have 225 rooms spread over 17 stories. He is using his preferred architect, Gene Kaufman, for the project.
“We’ve been working together for so long,” Mr. Chang said of Mr. Kaufman. “He knows what I want.”
Construction commenced last November and Mr. Chang said he is planning for the hotel to open on Feb. 1.
Mr. Chang purchased the site in April 2013 for $17 million, property records indicate.
