If the overall real estate world has been somewhat slow to welcome proptech entrepreneurs into its power elite, as in all things, when money talks, people listen. No better example of such auditory acknowledgement can be found than that of proptech venture capital firm Fifth Wall.

Led by co-founders Brad Greiwe and Brendan Wallace, Fifth Wall’s bankroll of more than $3 billion in assets under management is talking the talk and walking the walk for its leveraged partners.

Since its inception, Fifth Wall has backed 20 proptech unicorns and numbers notable companies such as Industrious, VERO, VTS, Neighbor, Bilt Rewards, Tailorbird and WiredScore among its portfolio’s ranks.

At the end of 2023, Fifth Wall announced that it closed an additional $340 million for its climate investment strategy on top of the $500 million it had raised in its inaugural climate fund. Among its 30 climate tech company investments are Brimstone,  Impulse Labs, RoadRunner, Mill, Runwise, EV Realty, Assembly OSM, SolarCycle, Source and Cyclic Materials.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2016, the growing venture capital firm has expanded its footprint with a new headquarters at the Spiral Building in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards, while also housing its 55-plus professionals in offices in San Francisco, London and Singapore.

Such growth was also reflected in Fifth Wall naming Jeremy Fox and G.M. Nicholas Vik as its first co-presidents in April 2024. Having been with Fifth Wall almost from its start after distinguished careers outside proptech venture capital, the duo is helming the firm alongside Wallace and Greiwe, with Fox leading the global partner coverage team, a continuation of his previous role, as well as all of its fundraising efforts, and Vik overseeing day-to-day operations.

Counting partnerships with incumbent powerhouses CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, Hines, Invesco, Lennar, Marriott, Prologis, the Related Companies and Toll Brothers, Fifth Wall continues to be a long-term influencer of proptech creation and its infusion into the real estate value chain.
