Pamela van Os
Senior vice president, head of West Coast multifamily loan production at Greystone
Greystone announced in June 2020 that it had created a new role amid the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic to bring on finance maestro Pamela van Os to lead the company’s sizable West Coast agency multifamily production business.
Van Os joined Greystone from Newmark, where she had spent 17 years as a chief underwriter, including as part of Berkeley Point Capital, which merged with Newmark in 2018.
A 25-year industry veteran, van Os hit the ground running in the early summer last year, overseeing a band of 35 professionals charged with originating agency multifamily debt across California, Oregon, Texas, Washington and Colorado.
The Greystone group certainly rode the wave of the multifamily business’ strength following the pandemic, doubling its number of agency closed loans and increasing income by more than 100 percent, according to information from the firm. Overall, Van Os’ West Coast team was responsible for $1.8 billion in agency loan originations in 2020, while Greystone as a firm tallied about $16.6 billion in total multifamily loan production.
Outside of her responsibilities as a housing financier, van Os is a member of the board of the Extension Design Thinking Executive Program at the University of California, Riverside, where she helps the program’s faculty and managers come up with material around problem-solving, increasing production, and growing a business and organization, among other strategies for business development.
She is also a part of Greystone’s internal women’s network, which aims to support women within the workplace at the company, as well as find, hire and retain women real estate professionals there. — M.B.
