British media and publishing company Future is relocating its office to a spot near Midtown Manhattan’s Bryant Park, Commercial Observer has learned.
The publisher of Live Science, Marie Claire and Homes & Gardens secured 13,000 square feet across the entire second floor of Thor Equities’ 25 West 39th Street, located one block south of Bryant Park. The 10-year lease agreement carries an asking rent of $70 per square foot, according to a source familiar with the deal.
Future was represented by Savills‘ Shay Bolton and Kirill Azovtsev, while Okada & Company’s Christopher Okada and Thomas Capuano negotiated on behalf of Thor.
The building on 39th Street between Avenue of the Americas and Fifth Avenue is just a short stroll around the park from the publisher’s current East Coast headquarters at 130 West 42nd Street, also known as Bush Tower. Future signed a long-term deal for 16,000 square feet at the historic tower in 2021, according to Connect CRE. The publisher’s West Coast operations are headquartered in Los Angeles, according to its website.
Thor’s West 39th Street tower recently secured another cross-border tenant in Century Cricket Centre, an Australia-based cricket concept that plans to soon open its first U.S. location at the property. Corporate tenants at the office building include content creation platform Spotter and art collective Tin Drum.
Spokespeople for Future, Thor, Savills and Okada & Company did not respond to requests for comment.
