Known for its distinctive strollers, baby gear brand Uppababy is relocating its store within Brooklyn, Commercial Observer has learned.
The high-end baby accessories brand is opening a 3,780-square-foot brick-and-mortar location at Owen Realty’s 156 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights, according to broker JLL. Uppababy will move next year from 90 Smith Street in Cobble Hill, where it established its Brooklyn retail and service “hub” in about 2019.
JLL did not immediately provide the length of the lease or the asking rent for the space, but the average retail asking rent along nearby Fulton Street was $190 per square foot in 2025, according to the most recent retail report from the Real Estate Board of New York.
“Brooklyn is an important market for Uppababy, and this relocation allows us to build on the relationships we have developed with local families,” Bob Monahan, co-founder and CEO of Uppababy, said in a statement. “Brooklyn Heights has a strong community of young and growing families, and the Montague Street location gives us the space and accessibility to deliver the hands-on product experience and personalized service that define our hub stores.”
Uppababy manufactures and sells strollers, car seats, highchairs and other products for infants. Its top-of-the-line Vista V3 stroller, described on the company’s website as a “best seller,” retails for $1,000.
JLL’s Jesse Wolff and Elijah Mehl represented the tenant in the transaction while Ryan Condren and George Danut, also from JLL, negotiated on behalf of Owen Realty.
Owen Realty, which uses the LLC Montague Realty Development Associates, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“Montague Street offers the neighborhood density, visibility and accessibility that work well for family focused retailers like Uppababy,” Wolff said in a statement.
