NYC Human Resources Administration Extends 174K-SF Lease in Midtown

The New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) extended the lease for a government agency in Midtown South.
The New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) will get an extra 18 months at Vornado Realty Trust’s 260 11th Avenue, where it occupies 174,186 square feet, according to a source close to the deal.
The deal appeared in a monthly Manhattan office market report by Colliers, which offered no further insight into the deal apart from the average office asking rent for Midtown South, which was $78.90 in August.
DCAS negotiated the deal on behalf of HRA, but it’s unclear who brokered the deal for Vornado, which declined to comment.
HRA’s lease was scheduled to turn over in October, The Real Deal reported in September 2022, and at some point it may have expanded its footprint from its initial 154,000 square feet.
The agency has locations throughout the city, including a 350,000-square-foot office at Clipper Equities‘ 250 Livingston Street, where it offers legal services, and a 9,199-square-foot post at 25 Chapel Street in Downtown Brooklyn, where it provides assistance to veterans.
Located between West 26th and West 27th streets several blocks south of Hudson Yards, 260 11th Avenue is a seven-story landmarked building constructed in 1911 and is known as the Otis Elevator Building. Vornado holds a 99-year ground lease for the property.
