Home Depot bought a long-empty Sam’s Club store near Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County, according to a deed made public Thursday.

The Atlanta-based retailer paid $26 million for the 14.8-acre property, which includes a 135,268-square-foot warehouse store and 800 parking spots. Sam’s Club, the bulk grocery concept operated by Walmart, shuttered the location in January 2018, and the property has sat empty since.

The location at 7233 Seacrest Boulevard is in an unincorporated pocket between Boynton Beach and Lake Worth, near the Hypoluxo Road exit from I-95.

The property last sold in March, when an affiliate of Pennsylvania-based Alliance Partners HSP paid $17 million for the site.

Home Depot didn’t immediately respond to a query about its plans for the site. The retailer was among those that thrived as the coronavirus pandemic spurred a remodeling boom.
