reprintsExpanding its presence in Northern Virginia, Freddie Mac has signed a lease for the entire Centerstone at Tysons building located at 1550 Westbranch Drive in Tysons, Va.
The federal mortgage loan corporation’s 150,000-square-foot lease was first reported by The Washington Business Journal. Freddie Mac’s headquarters is located less than a mile away from the new building at 8200 Jones Branch Drive.
Philadelphia-based real estate investment advisor Rubenstein Partners and Boston-based real estate investment firm Griffith Properties purchased the six-story Centerstone at Tysons for $27.75 million in 2015 and have since renovated the property.
“What we created at Centerstone at Tysons is the kind of differentiated workplace experience modern tenants are seeking,” Read Mortimer, a senior vice president at Rubenstein Partners, said in a press release from the property owners.
Mike Shuler, Nate Krill, Rob Walters, and Baihly Underhill of Avison Young represented Rubenstein and Griffith in the transaction, according to a spokesman for the landlords, who would not disclose the asking rent at Centerstone at Tysons. The brokers declined CO’s request for comment. Paul Darr of Cushman & Wakefield (CWK), who also declined to comment, represented Freddie Mac, according to WBJ.
