Jeweler Almod Diamonds is moving its Midtown headquarters one block east after inking a deal for 16,200 square feet at Tower 49, according to the tenant’s broker, Cushman & Wakefield (CWK).

The diamond company has taken the entire 39th floor at the 45-story, roughly 600,000-square-foot office tower at 12 East 49th Street between Madison and Fifth Avenues, C&W said in a press release today.

The space will house Almod’s headquarters and back office, with the jeweler relocating from nearby 592 Fifth Avenue at the southwest corner of West 48th Street.

Asking rent in the deal was in the high $90s per square foot, according to representatives for C&W. The exact length of the “long-term” lease was not disclosed.

C&W’s Adam Nelson represented Almod while landlord Kato International was represented in-house by Robert Bakst. Representatives for C&W declined additional comment, while Kato did not return a request for comment.

Other tenants at Tower 49 include coworking giant WeWork, the Major League Baseball Players Association and private equity firm Advent International.
