A new vegetarian burger joint is coming to 815 Broadway in Greenwich Village, Commercial Observer has learned.

V-Burger is taking 900 square feet at the building between East 11th and East 12th Streets, according to Eastern Consolidated. The eatery is subleasing the space from The Hummus & Pita Co., which will keep 1,600 square feet at the site and split a kitchen with the veggie-based burger joint.

The asking rent for the 10-year deal was $250 per square foot. When V-Burger opens in October, there will be a single entrance to the building but two separate counters, according to Ravi Idnani of Eastern Consolidated. It’s a similar set up to what The Juice Bar, which previously occupied V-Burger’s space, had at 815 Broadway.

Mr. Idnani and colleagues James Famularo and Ryan Reszelbach represented both the tenant and the sublandlord in the deal.

V-Burger opted for a location that would be able to play into foot traffic from Union Square, New York University and Astor Place, Mr. Idnani said.

“Hummus & Pita is looking forward to sharing space with another healthy food provider that will complement its menu,” Mr. Idnani said in prepared remarks.  “At the same time, V-Burger will enjoy a prime location in the heart of Greenwich Village, just blocks from Union Square.”
