reprintsAfter roughly a year as a senior director at Eastern Consolidated, retail broker Alexander Hill has become a managing partner at Murro Hill, Commercial Observer has learned.
“I left Eastern to form Murro Hill with my partner Cosmo Montemurro,” said Mr. Hill, whose office is at 147 West 35th Street.
Mr. Hill was part of a team including James Famularo, Jeff Geoghegan and Ravi Idnani that was recruited to head up Eastern’s new retail leasing division in January. Mr. Hill had been at Winick Realty Group prior to starting at Eastern.
While at Eastern, he represented Hudson Market in a long-term lease for 5,100 square feet of ground-floor retail space at 303 10th Avenue, an 89-unit luxury residential rental building called Port 10. He also co-represented Keratinbar in its lease for a second salon at 342 West 14th Street. His listings included the eight-floor marble building at 4 East 43rd Street and the two-building space at 425-427 Seventh Avenue.
“Alex had the opportunity to be a partner in a small firm,” said Daun Paris, the president and co-founder of Eastern. “We wish him well.”
According to Mr. Hill’s LinkedIn profile, he has represented firms including the Related Companies, Young Woo & Associates, Red Apple Group, Atlantic Development, Artimus and L&M Development.
“Cosmo Montemurro and I started our retail leasing careers at Winick in 2007/08 and worked there together for five years closing a number of transactions,” Mr. Hill said. “We are now partners in Murro Hill LLC. Our firm focuses on tenant and landlord representation in New York City. We now have a team of brokers and are growing fast.” He put that team at four people.
Mr. Hill said he bought into the existing infrastructure of Murro Realty and formed Murro Hill LLC, a new company.
