World-Wide Group has appointed RKF as the exclusive agent for 8,300 square feet of ground-level retail space at QLIC, a 21-story residential building in Long Island City, according to a release issued by the company.

“We’d like to fill the space with a tenant or tenants that will meet the needs and serve as amenities of the constantly-evolving Queens Plaza neighborhood, said Rachel Loeb, director of development at the World-Wide Group, in a prepared statement. “Any tenant will greatly benefit from the thousands of people living, working and commuting through the area every day.”

The building is located within a five-block radius of eight subway lines, including the 7, N, and Q, among others, according to the release. Additionally, QLIC is located in a part of LIC heavy in retail, restaurants and cultural attractions.

“We are very excited to team up with World-Wide Group once again on this exciting new project,” said Alex Beard, an associate at RKF who will market the retail space along with Executive Vice President Ariel Schuster, in a prepared statement. “As Long Island City continues to flourish, we see tremendous opportunity at QLIC for a multitude of tenants, including grocery, restaurant and fitness brands that will benefit the growing residential population in the area.”

The 421 rental residences at QLIC, ranging from studio to three-bedroom spaces, will be available to tenants beginning in early 2015, according to the release.

Representatives of World-Wide Group and RKF were not immediately available for further comment.
