Colliers International Appoints New Executive Director

Richard Charkham has joined Colliers (CIGI) International as an executive director, Commercial Observer has learned.

Mr. Charkham brings two decades of legal and real estate experience advising corporate tenants. His career has focused on advising American subsidiaries of Israeli and British companies on real estate acquisitions, dispositions and strategy, most recently representing Israeli technology companies as a senior vice president at Manhattan-based Centric Real Estate Advisors.

“Richard joins us with a great deal of success in working with clients overseas and throughout the United States,” said Joseph Harbert, president of Colliers International’s eastern region, in a statement. “With his combination of real estate and legal experience he most certainly will be an asset to the Colliers team, helping us serve corporate clients in a highly strategic fashion.”

Mr. Charkham has arranged more than four million square feet of transactions, including U.S. headquarters relocations and expansions in New York on behalf of The Economist Newspaper Group, Institutional Investor, Sentinel Real Estate, CFO Publishing and Human Rights First. He has also arranged acquisitions and dispositions for Amdocs, NICE Systems, and Comverse, among others.

Prior to his foray into the real estate industry, Mr. Charkham was an attorney in England and Israel for 16 years.
