reprintsPaul Morelli will be opening his first New York store after signing a 10-year lease for a two-level space at 895 Madison Avenue.
The jeweler, a presence at luxury goods department store Bergdorf Goodman since 1981, will occupy a 728-square-foot ground floor space and a 1,221-suare foot basement, with 40 feet of frontage across from Ralph Lauren’s New York flagships.
“Paul Morelli was primed for his own signature store in the city,” said Faith Consolo of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group, who arranged the deal with Joseph Aquino, in a written statement. “This location is absolutely ideal because it is a destination for the world’s most sought after brands.”
The Philadelphia-based jeweler has outposts in shops across the world, including Herrod’s, Holt Renfrew and Neiman Marcus, while the new shop is situated in the surrounding company of brands like Tom Ford, Emilio Pucci, Bond No. 9, Celine, Bottega Veneta, Prada and Chloé.
“Paul Morelli already has loyal followings around the world. But what truly distinguishes his collections is that they are all handmade in America,” said Mr. Aquino, in the statement.
Dougles Elliman’s retail group has brought a host of high-end names to the so-called “Jewel Mile,” including Buccellati, Cartier, Graff, Kentshire and Kwiat, according to an announcement from a Douglas Elliman spokesperson.
Paul Morelli takes a space formerly occupied by Galo Shoes. Ms. Consolo and Mr. Aquino exclusively represented the landlord and tenant.
The spokesperson was unable to immediately confirm the square footage.
