2parkavenue Pretty Good Deal at 2 Park, If You ASME! The American Society of Mechanical Engineers has inked a deal for 100,000-square-feet at 2 Park Avenue, and will relocate in the fall of 2012. The lease is long-term and the asking rent was in the mid-$40s a foot.

ASME is not straying far from its current home—2 Park is only a block away and across the street from 3 Park, but it offers “larger space to better accommodate current and future needs,” according to a release from the organization.

The 100,000-square-foot space fills both the sixth and seventh floors, and ASME has hired architectural design firm HLW International to design its new offices.

“The office relocation is a reflection of ASME’s continuing growth, in terms of the programs and services it offers to our members, the broader engineering community and the public,” executive director Thomas G. Loughlin said in a statement.

Mark Jaccom and Leon Manoff of Colliers (CIGI) International repped the tenant. Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord, an LLC affiliated with Morgan Stanley. Cushman recently drew British Airways to the 1 million-square-foot tower for a 10-year lease, marking the airline’s return to Manhattan after 25 years.
