The Dahesh Museum of Art knows firsthand the merciless world of New York real estate. After a rent hike in 2007 forced the museum into a four-year state of vagrancy—a rather blue period, indeed—the Dahesh, also known as the DMA, has just signed a four-year lease in Soho.
The new 3,500-square-foot location at Sixth Avenue and Dominick Street is adjacent to the chic (but controversial) Trump Soho. The museum’s lease will begin in the next month, and they are expected to pay around $75 per square foot, according to Crain’s, which first had news of the deal.
