Shorenstein announced Monday that it has secured approximately three office leases totaling 78,000 square feet at its recently repositioned building in Washington, D.C.’s East End.

Policy analysis and consulting firm Capstone signed the largest lease at approximately 43,000 square feet. Government relations and lobbying firm Monument Advocacy signed for 25,000 square feet, and the nonprofit Skoll Foundation signed for 10,000 square feet, according to Avison Young, which represented Shorenstein. The brokerage did not disclose the lengths of the leases or the asking rents at the property.

Shorenstein acquired the property at 901 K Street NW in June 2025 for $84.3 million, property records show, and spent the past year upgrading the building. Improvements include a renovated lobby, a new conference and event center, enhancements to the rooftop terrace and expanded tenant amenities.

“The leasing momentum at 901 K Street is the result of the market’s continued flight to quality,” Avison Young’s Jonathan Wellborn said in a statement.

Wellborn, Eli Barnes and Will Stern of Avison Young’s D.C. agency leasing team represented Shorenstein in the transactions.

“Companies are investing in workplaces that help attract talent, strengthen culture and support collaboration,” Barnes said. “901 K Street delivers that experience through its prime location, upgraded amenities and vibrant retail offerings.”
