Harrison Street Hires Dan Fanelli as Co-Head of U.S. Investment Solutions in NYC

Fanelli is one of two new hires and one promotion in the firm’s Investor Solutions Group

Harrison Street Asset Management is appointing three new executives to lead its strategies in the U.S., Asia and Europe.

Dan Fanelli will join the global investment management firm as managing director and co-head of its Investor Solutions Group. Fanelli’s move comes after stints at PGIM, Brookfield Asset Management and Innovo Property Group, according to Harrison Street.

Dan Kim also joins Harrison Street as managing director in Chicago focused on infrastructure. Kim previously led consultant relations for eqt partners.

“As the firm continues to grow globally, we remain committed to investing in exceptional talent and strengthening our Investor Solutions platform to best serve our clients,” Geoff Regnery, co-president of Harrison Street’s Investor Solutions Group, said in a statement. “These appointments reflect the continued evolution of our global team and our focus on deepening relationships with institutional investors around the world as we continue to scale our platform.”

James Choi has also been promoted from Harrison Street’s head of Asia based in Tokyo. He will be moving to the West Coast to work alongside Fanelli as his co-head and focus on “deepening relationships with North American institutional clients,” according to the company.

“These appointments bring together seasoned leaders with deep institutional relationships and complementary expertise across real estate, infrastructure and credit,” Jenna Sheehan, co-head of the Investor Solutions Group, said in a statement.

Harrison Street, founded in part by Christopher Merrill, has over $110 billion in assets, mostly consisting of student housing, senior housing and medical offices, and has offloaded about $6 billion in properties over the last 12 months, Commercial Observer previously reported.
