Men’s Grooming Club John Allan’s Moves to 4 East 46th Street

A men’s grooming and hair brand is moving its flagship location to Midtown East.

John Allan’s signed a 3,000-square-foot lease at Jeong Hoon Kim’s 4 East 46th Street, where it will provide an exclusive experience for its members in a relocation from 575 Fifth Avenue, according to tenant broker CBRE.

The length of the lease was not disclosed, but asking rent for the building was $60 per square foot, according to CBRE.

“John Allan’s, which has had a Grand Central presence for more than 30 years, helped pioneer a modern men’s grooming concept that combines traditional barbering, salon-quality services and a private club atmosphere,” CBRE’s Paul Walker, who represented John Allan’s, said in a statement. “[The new location] will allow them to continue to serve their area customers and maintain their long-term presence in New York City.”

Claude Kolb from Lee & Associates NYC negotiated on behalf of the building’s ownership, which uses the shell corporation UD 45 Street, LLC with Kim as an authorized signatory on documents in property records. Kolb did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The LLC bought the five-story property in 2013 for $16.8 million, but at the time, the mailing address matched that of Zephyr Properties. It’s unclear what the firm’s involvement in ownership is, if any.
