Andrew Weir and Jamie Leachman have been chosen to lead JLL (JLL)’s capital markets platform in Washington, D.C., effective immediately.
Weir, a senior managing director with the firm, will now lead the office’s investment advisory business. Leachman, also a senior manager, will oversee the debt and equity placement platform.
The co-leads replace executive managing director Stephen Conley and senior managing director Jim Meisel, who are remaining with the firm. Conley also sits on the JLL Capital Markets Executive Committee Council.
“Jamie and Andrew are integral members of our Washington, D.C. team, as well as nationally,” Meisel said in a release. “Both exemplify what we look for in leaders for this company and we are excited to transfer the reins, so to speak, to the next generation.”
A 25-year-veteran of commercial real estate, Weir started with HFF in 2004 and joined the current team following JLL’s acquisition of HFF in 2019. Over the course of his career, he’s closed more than $22 billion of transactions in the D.C. area.
With 16 years of experience in the commercial mortgage banking industry, Leachman also first arrived at JLL as part of the HFF acquisition. Over his career, he has handled more than $10 billion of debt and equity transactions, specializing in the multifamily realm.
“We look forward to continuing to grow upon JLL’s position as the top capital markets intermediary in the industry with creative solutions for our clients in this ever-changing real estate landscape,” Leachman said.
