reprintsE-bike and hoverboard manufacturer Jetson is moving its operations to Industry City in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Commercial Observer can first report.
The company will relocate from 6,000 square feet at 1 Rewe Street in East Williamsburg to a 12,500-square-foot space in Industry City, according to a press release from the landlords. Jetson, which produces electric bikes, hoverboards, electric scooters and skateboards, inked a five-year lease for new offices on the fourth floor of 86 34th Street. It will house 30 employees from its marketing, sales, design and product development teams there. Asking rent in the 16-building Industry City complex ranges from $15 to $45 a square foot.
“Industry City will be a great new home and creative environment to foster Jetson’s next phase of growth,” Jeston CEO Josh Sultan said in prepared remarks.
Karen Cohen Realty & Associates represented Jetson in the deal and didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Sam Gewirtzman handled the deal in-house for Industry City.
“The creative class of tenants at Industry City was in large part what drove Jetson, with its forward-thinking design and production philosophy, to make a home here,” Kathe Chase, the director of leasing at Industry City, said in a statement.
Leasing activity at the turn-of-the-century industrial complex continues to be brisk. Recent new tenants include shoemaker Estas Brands, video equipment rental firm Ver Technologies and black women’s publication Essence Magazine.
Jamestown, Belvedere Capital, Angelo, Gordon & Co., Cammeby’s International and FBE Limited own Industry City, which includes 6 million square feet of office and industrial space spread across 35 acres on the south Brooklyn waterfront.
