Sights and Scenes from the First Two Days of MIPIM

Every year, more than 2,600 companies and an estimated 23,000 participants flock to the French Riviera for the Marché International des Professionnels d’Immobilier, better known as MIPIM. The global property exhibition, staged at the famed Palais des Festivals in Cannes (home of the Cannes Film Festival), provides players from all sectors of the international real estate and development market with a chance to network, trade ideas and make deals—all against the sunny and glamorous backdrop of the Cote d’Azur.

Our man in Cannes, Liam La Guerre, has been taking it all in and documenting as he goes. When he’s not talking market with execs like Dana Baines, Thor Equities’ director of capital markets, he’s been on his phone: tweeting, to be exact, about the sights and scenes at MIPIM. So just in case you weren’t able to make it out to the South of France this week and found yourself trapped inside, riding out a blizzard here in New York, here’s a look at the goings-on from the first two days in Cannes.— Rey Mashayekhi
