Tech Consulting Firm Microdesk Relocates to 5 Penn Plaza
A software consulting firm has inked a 10,084-square-foot deal to relocate to 5 Penn Plaza from a few blocks away.
Microdesk will move onto part of the 14th floor of the 24-story building between West 33rd and West 34th Streets, according to a release from CBRE, which represented the landlord. The firm is currently based five blocks south at 330 Seventh Avenue between West 28th and West 29th Streets. Asking rent in the 10-year lease was $65 per square foot.
Peter Turchin, Jason Pollen and Dave Caperna of CBRE represented the landlord. John Dolan of McCall & Almy and James Seo of Hanley Advisors. Dolan and Seo did not immediately return requests for comment.
“We are very active right now,” Turchin said in prepared statements. “We are glad to say we have several leases going on and I think the brokerage response to the building renovations has been extremely positive.”
The Haymes Investment Company-owned building recently underwent reconstruction through a multi-million-dollar capital improvement program, with architecture firm Gensler spearheading the redesign. It now has a two-story glass façade, and a new lobby, elevator cabs and a tenant-only café, according to the release.
CVS and TD Bank occupy the retail portion of the 91-year-old property. Sirius XM Radio leases four floors of the building and travel agency GTA Americas recently renewed its 28,641-square-foot lease, as Commercial Observer reported this February.
