North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System has inked a 10-year lease for nearly 6,000 square feet on the Upper East Side.
The deal, which was signed at the end of July, gives North Shore-LIJ 5,936 square feet for office and medical usage on the ground floor at The Diamond House, a residential condominium at 170 East 77th Street.
Paul Wexler and Josef Yadgarov of Wexler Healthcare Properties at The Corcoran Group negotiated the deal. The asking rent was $85 per square foot, according to a spokeswoman for the Corcoran duo.
Simone Development owns the medical condo unit.
“This transaction was a perfect opportunity for the hospital as it is located one block away from their main entrance,” said Patricia Simone, vice president of leasing and operations at Simone Development, in a prepared statement.
North Shore-LIJ acquired Lenox Hill Hospital in May 2010, giving the Long Island health care system entrée to Manhattan.
