Children’s Corner will be adding space to its office in the Bronx.

Children’s Corner had initially leased 8,500 square feet of space at 1200 Waters Place in the Simone Development-owned Hutchinson Metro Center. They will occupy an additional 9,000-square-foot space within the same complex in a separate building, the Metro Center Atrium.

The deal comes at the same time as Calvary Hospital signed an 8,000-square-foot space at the new Metro Center Atrium. The hospital is the only fully accredited acute care specialty hospital exclusively focused on palliative care for adult advanced cancer patients. The space will house administrative offices.

“We are gratified to expand our existing relationships with both Calvary Hospital and Children’s Corner at Hutchinson Metro Center and welcome them to our new Metro Center Atrium,” said Josh Gopan, director of leasing for Hutchinson Metro Center, in a prepared statement.  “Demand for space in our latest development has been tremendous, and it is exciting to see our existing tenants expand along with us.”

Mr. Gopan brokered the transaction on behalf of the landlord.

Founded in 1973, the child care center has opened nearly a dozen offices in the tristate region offering quality and affordable child care for working parents.

Given its location, Children’s Corner has a direct market of more than 4,000 medical professionals that work at the metro center. The center is also in close proximity to five major hospitals in the Bronx, including Montefiore which will be moving into a 280,000-square-foot tower in the complex next year.
