Pie Face will be opening a new location in New York.
The Australian-based meat pie purveyor has signed a 1,025-square-foot lease at 729 Eighth Avenue, steps away from Restaurant Row in Times Square. This will be the eatery’s third location in the city, in addition to a pair of outposts at 1691 Broadway and 507A Third Avenue.
“From humble beginnings in Sydney, Australia, Pie Face is taking New York City by storm serving their Australian Meat pies and roasted coffee,” said Howard Aaron, president and general manager of Square Foot Realty. “Now theater-goers and tourists and locals alike have a delicious eat-and-run choice before the show.”
The space will be divided between a 500-square-foot ground floor space and a 625 square foot basement. Some of the features of the space include high ceilings and an interior staircase to the basement which also has a bathroom.
“[The landlord] liked the look and price points and something exciting for the Times Square area,” said Mr. Aaron. “This is an unusual concept and ownership thinks it will take off with the tourists, and local residents. They wanted a fresh new concept and Pie Face was a different fresh new food concept in New York City.”
Mr. Aaron exclusively represented the landlord, Clinton Housing Development, Inc. CBRE‘s Rob Bonicoro was on the opposite side of the table representing Pie Face in the transaction.
The asking rent for the retail location was $14,000 a month and the lease was set for 10 years with an opening date by late spring.
