The French childrenswear line Jacardi signed a lease for 2,500 square feet at 911 Broadway in the Flatiron District. It will be the company’s first Manhattan retail location below 59th Street.
David Baker and Julie Louzon of Isaacs & Co. represented the tenant. Michelle Ball of Rudd Realty represented the landlord, RJR Realty. Crain’s reports that the asking rent was $270 per square foot.
The retailer currently has two Upper East Side locations and a branch by Columbus Circle. The downtown expansion reflects the area’s growing popularity with young, affluent families. ““You only have to look at the strollers and shoppers nearby at ABC and Le Pain Quotidien to know that their customer is in the neighborhood,” Mr. Baker told Crain’‘s.
Jacardi will occupy 1,100 square feet on the ground floor and 700 square feet on the second and third floors. There is also a basement storage space. The Metropolitan Design Center was the previous tenant.
