Integral Consulting has inked a deal for a new office space at 61 Broadway.

The environmental health and engineering firm will take 5,117 square feet at Broad Street Development‘s 61 Broadway. The firm will be moving their New York offices to the 16th floor of the building in favor of their old office at 267 Broadway.

The firm’s scientists and engineers apply a multidisciplinary expertise to their projects which have included the Exxon Valdez oil spill and the Portland Harbor Sediment Remedial Investigation.

“They liked the lobby and general feel of the building,” said Ramona Huegel of Broad Street Development. “They came through to look at the space a few times, but when they were ready to go to lease, we had already signed leases on the spaces. Then this one came available and they jumped on it.”

Mrs. Huegel represented the landlord in-house alongside colleagues David Israni and Daniel Blanco. Peter Trivelas of DTZ was on the opposite side of the table representing Integral Consulting in the transaction.

The lease comes on the heels of several signings at 61 Broadway. Firms such as Rosner Nocera & Ragone LLP, Vincenti & Vincenti PC, 87AM, and the law offices of Lauren Baum, among others, have taken nearly 34,418 square feet of the 700,000-square-foot building.

“[Leasing activity has been] extremely busy,” said Ms. Huegel. “We have been getting an array of tenants coming to the building – see releases – creative agencies, law firms, tech companies, nonprofits, health and doctor’s offices. We have always gotten more law firm types, but recently we have been getting media centered companies like 87AM and MT2 Communications.”

Occupancy rate at 61 Broadway currently stands at 96 percent.
