Avison Young has added Anthony LoPresti to its roster. Mr. LoPresti, most recently an office leasing broker with CBRE (CBRE), will join the firm as a senior vice president in its New York office effective immediately.

In his new position, Mr. LoPresti will focus on the representation of landlords and corporations in their office leasing requirements, including site selection, financial analysis and lease negotiations, as well as generating business development opportunities, according to Avison Young.

At CBRE, LoPresti was recognized as the firm’s top-producing associate in 2010, for which he was awarded the company’s “Associate of the Year” distinction. In 2011, Crain’s New York Business distinguished him as one of 10 brokers to watch under the age of 30 in its “Property’s Next Generation” feature. Throughout his career, he has represented numerous clients, including Simon Property Group, Nippon Life Insurance, Greenberg Traurig and DHL Express.

Mr. LoPresti earned a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in New York, as well as a bachelor of business administration finance degree from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He began working with CBRE in September of 2008, several months after earning his law degree, he said.

“At Avison Young, we are looking to cultivate the next generation of industry leaders, and are confident that Anthony’s consistent ability to execute, as well as his consummate professionalism, will contribute to him playing a valuable role in the future of our organization as we continue to build our client base and presence in the New York City market,” said Greg Kraut, principal and managing director of Avison’s New York office, in a prepared release.

“I am very excited to be joining the best-in-class team of professionals that Avison Young has assembled, and look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues both in New York City and nationally,” Mr. LoPresti said.
