Eastern Consolidated has hired Ari Schwartz as an associate director, it was announced last week.
Mr. Schwartz, who is the fifth attorney to join the investment services firm, will specialize in bankruptcy, financial restructuring and real estate and commercial law, as he did at Teitelbaum & Baskin, the law firm he worked for before joining Eastern Consolidated.
“Historically during quiet and downtimes in the economy, Eastern has grown by adding new experts to its brokerage team,” said Daun Paris, president of Eastern Consolidated, in a prepared statement.
“Especially now at a time when mortgage notes seem to be the product du jour, we are adding professionals such as Ari who have the experience and legal expertise to help guide our clients through the complicated morass of bankruptcy and financial restructuring,” she added.
Lee & Associates, the large brokerage-owned commercial real estate firm that broke into the New York City market last year with the acquisition of Sierra Real Estate, has hired Dennis Someck and Mitchell Kunikoff as executive managing directors.
The brokers, who will also serve as principals at Lee & Associates, join the firm after time served at George Comfort & Sons. The appointments, which come one month after Mr. Kunikoff’s brother Robert joined the firm, mark the 30th new hire at Lee & Associates since January, when brokers Howard Rosen and John Cannon signed on.
“Dennis and Mitchell complement perfectly our other recent hires,” said James Wacht, president of Lee NYC, in a prepared statement. “As experienced veterans in commercial office leasing with extensive backgrounds and successful track records, Dennis and Mitchell will be valuable additions to the New York office.”
Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group has hired David Robinov as a managing director of sales, it was announced last week.
Mr. Robinov, a 25-year real estate professional who most recently served three years as senior vice president of acquisitions at Arcadia Realty Trust, will now be responsible for leading Ackman-Ziff’s direct sales efforts. His focus will be on the firm’s retail sales platform.
Mr. Robinov, who before his stint at Arcadia Realty Trust logged 20 years at Eastdil Secured, will also help expand Ackman-Ziff’s presence in the world of office building sales and other property types in an effort to complement its hospitality practice.
“In deciding to return to an intermediary role, Ackman-Ziff is the perfect platform for me,” said Mr. Robinov in a prepared statement. “It enjoys tremendous depth and breadth of relationships with capital providers and top-rated clients, who will benefit from an even wider range of services. This synergy will enhance the firm’s existing recognition as the leading financial intermediary for complex transactions.”
“I couldn’t ask for a better team of professionals to complement my client base,” Mr. Robinov added.
