The wind turbine craze isn’t likely to catch on in New York City anytime soon, but the same apparently can’t be said for Dumbo office space. Yet another company, Wind-Products, is abandoning Soho and moving across the bridge in search of hip office digs and perhaps a tax credit. It has leased 2,972 square feet on the ninth floor of 20 Jay Street for five years. It was previously at 160 Varick Street.
The asking rent was in the low $20s, although Ken Fishel of Legacy Real Estate, who repped the tenant, literally jumped up and down before telling The Commercial Observer that a tenant with sufficient worker density could end up taking space in Dumbo for free due to a city relocation tax break.
Caroline Pardo of Two Trees represented the landlord in-house.
